The lowest starting price isn't always the lowest final cost.

A caterer's quote may exclude staffing, tableware or overtime. A florist may charge separately for installation and breakdown. A band may require additional equipment, travel or accommodation.

Look at the full scope of service, what's included, what may be added later and what the final realistic cost is likely to be.

What happens when something doesn't go according to plan?
Ask about backup arrangements, replacement policies, contracts and how unexpected problems are communicated and resolved.

A great vendor still needs to work within the reality of a destination wedding.
SHOULD YOU HIRE LOCALLY — OR BRING A VENDOR TO FRANCE?
Hiring locally can reduce travel costs and give you access to professionals who already know the region, local venues and suppliers.
But perhaps there's a photographer whose work you love, or a hair and makeup artist you already trust.
If you bring someone from abroad, compare the full cost — not just their fee.
Travel, accommodation, baggage, local transport and additional working days can all affect the final price. Consider how they'll coordinate with your venue and other vendors, too.
And check whether they're legally permitted to work in France.
A professional who can work in their home country isn't automatically entitled to provide paid services in France.
Depending on their nationality and circumstances, work authorization or other formalities may be required.
Confirm the requirements before signing a contract or booking travel.
Don't ask only what it costs to hire them. Ask what it costs to have them at your wedding in France.
